Future investment will continue to be in automotive manufacturing, and in areas that provide a broader diversity in economic growth. Our manufacturing sector, traditionally leaders in every aspect of automotive manufacturing for the "Detroit 3", continue to expand into new markets beyond their conventional base. Building on the strengths of our agri-business industry (including growers and producers), the Windsor-Essex Region continues to be a global leader in this sector.
The University of Windsor and St. Clair College are highly valued assets, carrying out world-class research by nearly every faculty. The development of the new School of Medicine at the University of Windsor presents an opportunity for our community to expand into exportable health-sector opportunities. Our tourism industry continues to flourish with elements like Caesar's Windsor, provincial parks, our wine route, water sports, fishing and water-based recreation with 106 km of shoreline as well as local history and culture like the Underground Railway, Fort Malden, music, theatre and visual arts.
