On March 16, 2011 the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation (WEEDC) hosted a seminar called Know the Rules: Prevent Business Disruption by Learning CIC Foreign Worker and Business Visitor Regulations. The seminar was spurred by reports of difficulties in crossing the border from the US into Canada by customers, technicians and service workers. In the presentations and relevant documentation, you will find some guidelines to help your colleagues be prepared for the border and their entry into Canada. There are also sample letters for your company to provide to your US counterparts for their trip into Canada, and for them to have completed by their employer prior to crossing the border including a checklist of information that they should be able to provide to the Border Services Officer at the point of entry.
